AI & Machine Learning for Teens
High-school students learn how modern AI really works and build a real machine learning project of their own, mentored 1-on-1 by a working senior software engineer.
- Python, NumPy and pandas foundations for working with data
- Core machine learning with scikit-learn: regression, classification, evaluation
- Neural networks and modern AI, explained without the hype
- A finished project to show in a portfolio, competition or university application
What your child will learn
What we cover
Data skills
Loading, cleaning and visualising real datasets with pandas and matplotlib.
Classic machine learning
Train/test splits, regression, decision trees, overfitting and honest evaluation.
Neural networks
How they learn, building small networks, and where large language models fit in.
Your own project
Choosing a question that matters to the student, then building, evaluating and writing it up.
Your teacher
Subhanu Sankar Roy
A working senior software engineer who has taught coding and computer science for 5+ years, to 20+ one-on-one students in Singapore, UAE, Oman, US: from 7-year-olds building their first Scratch games to Grade 11 students training machine learning models. Students learn what's actually used in industry, alongside exactly what their exam board asks for.

Questions parents ask
AI & Machine Learning: FAQs
Can a high school student learn machine learning?
Yes. A student who is comfortable with Python and school algebra can learn core machine learning. The maths is introduced as it's needed, and every idea is tied to code they write themselves.
What does my teen need to know before starting?
Basic Python (variables, loops, functions, lists) is enough. If they're not there yet, the plan starts with a short Python block first.
Will they build a real project?
Yes. The aim is a finished project on a real dataset, with honest evaluation and a write-up they can put in a portfolio or a university application.
Is this just learning to use ChatGPT?
No. Students learn how models are trained and evaluated and why they fail, and they write the code themselves. AI tools are used the way engineers use them: as helpers, not as a replacement for understanding.
